Ken White, Ph.D. is the vice president for communication and marketing at the University of Virginia’s nationally ranked Darden School of Business www.darden.virginia.edu. He has been working in higher education since 1990 spending each of those years in positions dealing with communication and marketing.
Prior to joining Darden in 2004, he was the director of communication and marketing at the Virginia Military Institute http://www.vmi.edu/. He also served as vice president for C&M at Northwest Missouri State University http://www.nwmissouri.edu/.
The work produced by Ken and his teammates has been recognized for excellence by IABC, PRSA, CASE, SIAA, Admission Marketing Awards, Marcom Awards, and the Associated Press.
He earned his doctorate from the University of Missouri http://www.missouri.edu/ and his master’s and bachelor’s degrees from Edinboro University of Pennsylvania http://www.edinboro.edu/. Ken has also attended courses at Darden’s top ranked executive education program http://www.darden.edu/html/area.aspx?area=execed&styleid=2 .
He serves on the communication advisory council at GMAC, the Graduate Management Admissions Council http://www.gmac.com/gmac and on the board of directors WVPT-TV, Virginia’s Public Television, http://www.wvpt.net/ .
Before working in higher education, he was an award-winning television sports anchor. In addition to his duties at the Darden School, Ken is the public address announcer for the Virginia Cavaliers men’s basketball team http://www.virginiasports.com/. He hosts the Darden BusinessCast http://www.darden.edu/podcasts/series.asp a weekly podcast that features the events, news, and newsmakers of the Darden School of Business.
